The cards are currently placed on the tree at City Hall downstairs by the Mayor Office.
We are continuing our long standing tradition with our Giving Tree in our Rochester Hills city hall. Beginning November 20th, you may choose a card off the tree for one of our own Rochester Hills children or senior and provide a Christmas that they would not have received. Our economy is very hard on our young families and our seniors as well. We are all just lending a hand in time of need. We have sent our Santa Letters to our families and seniors that have been referred to us. They have responded with their wishes.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS: Choose a card off the tree, on the card are sizes for clothes and small wishes of that person. You will shop, purchase and wrap these items and return to the Mayor’s office by December 4th.
Remember that all of these gifts are from Santa, so please write From Santa on the tags. We are also asking that you write on the card what is in the package: i.e. pants, sweater, or lego toy etc. We are anonymous to all that we help, so the From, Santa part is really important to help us move this along. If you do not want to wrap, that is okay too, we will take care of it.
We pick your gifts up and merge with other family members gifts into a giant gift bag. This year we will be having a “Santa” party (including pictures with Santa) and refreshments to distribute the gifts and our wonderful and very full food baskets.
Our seniors will still be delivered to by Santa! Many seniors are alone and forgotten. This brings them a sense of community family and food for the Holiday and way beyond for the winter months.
