How To Help

Whether you choose to volunteer your time, sponsor a child or make a donation, your assistance is always welcome. Its always difficult to ensure the residents we service are taken care of. It takes many hours of our volunteers time and it takes caring residents and businesses such as you. There are plenty of ways for you to help out, below are just a few:

For Residents:
Volunteer – Volunteers are always needed to help ensure our programs are completed not just at Christmas but throughout the year.

Sponsor someone from the Gift Giving Tree – Keep watching this website for news as to when the Gift Giving tree is up and available. Go to the tree and select a name or two from the list and see the simple things people often as for; bird seed for their bird feeder, sock or a simple dolly.

Donations – As you can imagine, it costs money to ensure our programs are a complete success. The Holiday Helpers are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so any donation is tax deductible and is greatly appreciated. These donations go to help us buy food for the food baskets, presents for families and seniors that may have been overlooked and assists in helping find the things our families need. The Holiday Helpers has no overhead, we don’t have any offices or phones or employees, so 100% of your donation goes directly to help the residents we serve.

For Businesses:
Sponsors – Many businesses employees enjoy coming together at Christmas to sponsor a family. Usually a group of three or more who the group buys gifts for. Employees feel the reward of knowing they helped someone in the community they serve by showing the true meaning of Christmas.

Gift Cards – Some businesses choose to donate gift cards. These are always used to help provide additional presents for someone who didn’t ask for much or maybe was overlooked. Without the generosity of Meijers donation of gift cards, Our Shop with a Cop program couldn’t be the success it is.

Food – Many stores often choose to donate food or allow us to purchase items for our food baskets at cost. This saves a great deal of money and allows us to provide just that much more to the people that need it the most.

Donations – Some businesses choose to make a tax deductible donation to the organization in the form of cash which in turn is used to sponsor more programs throughout the year.

As you can see, whether you’re a resident or a business member of the community, there are many ways you can help spread some Christmas cheer and show your neighbors the true meaning of Christmas.
